Specific areas of consulting include school culture, social-emotional learning, best-in-class teaching pedagogy, literacy/English Learners, and leadership development. Prior to serving as a consultant, John had various roles in education such as founding principal, district director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, and national director of teacher/leader development within a large charter school network. He serves regularly as a thought collaborator on LinkedIn at conferences, on various education themed podcasts, and as a contributing author on the Work It Daily online career growth platform. John strongly believes that, for students to thrive academically, students also need to be seen wholistically and, as such, supported socially and emotionally.
